Implementation of the National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of ASD in Australia – Health Sector Capacity Building

Investigators: Professor Andrew Whitehouse, Dr Felicity Rose

Project description

This project will build the capacity of mainstream health services’ clinicians involved in the assessment and diagnosis of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions to deliver comprehensive health and functional assessments, consistent with the National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of ASD in Australia.

Project outputs

This project aims to work with clinical and consumer stakeholder communities to establish sustainable mechanisms for capacity‐building in evidence‐based assessment and diagnosis across Australia. Additionally, we will develop a protocol for a nationally consistent, best-practice approach to assessing an individual’s goals, strengths, health needs and functional challenges across service sectors.

Funders

Autism CRC through the Department of Social Services Information, Linkages and Capacity program.
