A/Prof Nick Golding and Mr Gerry Ryan have been supporting Australia's response to COVID-19 by providing regular modelling advice to Australia's federal and state and territory governments. They have been running mathematical models every week since March 2020 to update the Australian Health Principal Protection Committee (made up of the nation's Chief Health Officers) and National Cabinet on rates of COVID-19 transmision in each Australian state and on the potential for COVID-19 spread. This has directly informed the Australia's decisions about how to respond to outbreaks.
