Early biomarkers predictive of autism

This study aims to investigate the cellular and molecular profiles of the immune system in infants at high/low risk for Autism, as determined through clinical assessment.

This study aims to investigate the cellular and molecular profiles of the immune system in infants at high/low risk for Autism, as determined through clinical assessment and is a collaboration with the Autism Research Team at The Kids Research Institute Australia. The goal is to identify immune biomarkers that are associated with development of autism to enable earlier intervention and improved outcomes. Sample collection is ongoing.

This work is funded through a TPCHRF grant, awarded 2017.

In parallel, we are collecting samples from older children, diagnosed with Autism, with the aim of seeking funding to determine immune system functionality, how this relates to disease to develop potential new avenues for treatment of biological dysfunction associated with disease.
