We are excited to launch our new Aboriginal Employment and Career Development Strategy (AECDS), aimed at building a culturally secure work environment by continuing to embed Aboriginal health & wellbeing into our research, and most importantly, continuing to listen to and be guided by a strong Aboriginal voice in all that we do.

The new strategy has four main priority areas:

  • Workplace Culture – building a culturally secure work environment for Aboriginal staff
  • Attract - and retain Aboriginal staff by providing meaningful workplace opportunities
  • Develop – supporting the career progression of Aboriginal staff, students and researchers
  • Empower - establishing local workforces that are familiar with and respond to the unique needs of the communities they live and work in.

Within the AECDS is the Aboriginal Recruitment Pathway program, providing us with a framework to position the Institute as an employer of choice for Aboriginal students and staff across both research and professional service fields of work.

At The Kids, we are driving inclusion and diversity as part of the way we work and have a number of fantastic positions available under the Pursuant of Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act 1984.

We acknowledge that when working in environments which contribute to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people, it is imperative that Aboriginal people are at the forefront of this work.

If you would like more information about the AECDS or would like to register your interest for future roles within the Institute – please email our Kulunga team at aboriginalcareers@telethonkids.org.au.
