Breastfeeding

Breastmilk is the perfect food for your baby for around the first 6 months, providing all the nutrients your baby needs and protecting them against infection, obesity and other chronic diseases such as diabetes, later in life.

Any breastfeeding is better than 'no breastfeeding'. It is better to breastfeed your child for a short amount of time or at the same time as providing infant formula than to not breastfeed at all. Your baby will still reap the short and long term benefits of having received breastmilk.

Nutrition

Children should enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods every day including plenty of vegetables, fruit, grains (preferably wholegrains), lean meats and dairy foods such as milk, yoghurt and cheese.

Water is the best drink for healthy children. Australian tap water is the safest and cheapest in the world and should be the first choice for growing kids.
