Heath Ledger Career Development Scholarships

Five outstanding researchers from Perth's The Kids for Child Health Research have been awarded the inaugural Heath Ledger Career Development Scholarships.

The scholarships, presented today by Heath's father Kim Ledger, will enable the researchers to attend conferences and visit research groups nationally and overseas.

Institute Director, Professor Stanley, said the scholarships would enable the researchers to meet, learn and share their work with some of the best people in their fields.

"These scholarships are so important for these researchers, not only in their own career development but in the knowledge that they will gain and bring back to Western Australia," Professor Stanley said.

"It's through trips like these that we are able to ensure that children in our state continue to benefit from the very latest thinking in these challenging disease and developmental areas."
