Case Study: Winc

A range of specially branded stationery has been created as part of an exciting new partnership between The Kids Research Institute Australia and Staples.

A range of specially branded stationery has been created as part of an exciting new partnership between The Kids Research Institute Australia and Winc (formerly Staples).

The Kids Research Institute Australia branded products, including notebooks, tissues, reusable coffee cups, pencils and hand sanitising gel, were launched at the start of 2017 to help raise funds and national awareness of the Institute’s vital research into child health.

Victoria Cooper, Enterprise Account Manager for Winc Australia, said the range was promoted to corporate, government and education customers as well as through its website and catalogue. Five per cent of total net sales will be donated to the Institute in support of medical research.

“The cause marketing range allows us to provide additional revenue to the Institute in the form of a donation, as well as assisting to promote the The Kids brand nationally,”

“Initial responses from our WA customers have been very positive and enthusiastic," Victoria said.

Mrs Cooper said one of the key goals of being a The Kids Supply Partner was to assist the Institute with streamlining and reducing costs related to its office supplies so it could maximise the funds available for research.

“Winc has been able to assist The Kids to reduce expenditure, free up staff resources and utilise procurement savings for core research initiatives instead,” she said. “This was achieved by reducing the number of vendors which enabled The Kids to consolidate their ordering, invoicing and reporting.”

Winc is the Institute’s Supply Partner for workplace and office supplies, including stationery, office furniture, IT hardware and software, printing services, catering and cleaning products and safety equipment.

Its global corporate responsibility commitment supports organisations that help disadvantaged kids through education or job skills. Here it aligns with The Kids Research Institute Australia’s commitment to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of all Australian children.

Emma Gillespie, Procurement and Contract Manager for The Kids Research Institute Australia, said Winc has a reputation for great value coupled with excellent service.

“The Institute used to transact with over 30 different organisations in the relevant categories of expenditure which was inefficient and a great administrative burden for all concerned,” Ms Gillespie said.

“The partnership with Winc allows us to consolidate the purchasing through one provider which achieves substantial cost price savings, spend visibility and management, free delivery, in addition to processing efficiencies. Staff have more time to spend on their research rather than getting caught up with low-value purchasing activity.

“As our trusted partner, Winc has consistently provided the Institute with support and guidance to assist us to improve our purchasing, storage and logistics related to our office supplies requirements. The Institute has also benefitted from the cause marketing campaign, free coffee machines, enhanced service delivery through a dedicated account manager, donations and event support, which is greatly appreciated at all levels of the organisation.”

The The Kids branded products can be ordered via the Winc website.
