Brittany is a Research and Evaluation Officer in the Early Years Systems Evidence team. In this role, she is responsible for quantitative data analysis and report writing across a range of projects focused on the health and wellbeing of young children.

Brittany is nearing completion of her PhD in cognitive psychology at Adelaide University (formerly University of Adelaide). Broadly, her PhD research focused on better characterising the relationship between motor symptom profile and cognitive impairment in Parkinson’s disease, with the goal of improving prognostic accuracy. As part of this work, Brittany developed a novel, objective motor assessment battery and used data from this battery to identify motor subtypes of Parkinson’s disease using data-driven clustering methods. During her PhD, Brittany also contributed to several large systematic reviews and meta-analyses, which gave her the opportunity to gain expertise in conducting multi-level meta-analyses.

Prior to commencing at The Kids Research Institute Australia, Brittany was a Statistical Analyst at the Australian Bureau of Statistics and a Lab Manager in the Cognitive and Neural Sciences Lab at the University of Adelaide. As a Lab Manager, she was involved in several large, overlapping research projects investigating cognitive function in healthy ageing, Parkinson’s disease, and following traumatic brain injury. During her time at the University of Adelaide, Brittany also spent several years as a Senior Tutor in the School of Psychology, primarily teaching research methods and statistics.
